Palmetto College/Online Programs
Launched in 2013, Palmetto College is the University of South Carolina’s consortium coordinating online bachelor’s degree programs across all eight USC campuses. As a member of the Palmetto College consortium, USC Upstate offers instruction, courses, programs and services at convenient times and in flexible formats. Students can begin and complete high-quality bachelor’s degrees in convenient online formats without disrupting personal, family, and professional commitments.
USC Upstate students enrolled in these programs are not required to submit immunization records since the programs are 100% online. Palmetto College tuition rates and fees apply to these USC Upstate online programs. For a listing of the most up-to-date tuition and fees, please visit our Tuition and Fees page.
Switching from On-Campus to Palmetto College Online
On-campus students who are interested in switching to an online USC Upstate program offered in association with the Palmetto College must contact the program’s Palmetto College Coordinator to see if they are eligible and get approval for the change. Formerly on-campus students are eligible to enroll in the Palmetto College program if a life change—such as a move, increase in work or family obligations, or shift in scheduling demands—results in the student moving permanently to an online-only course schedule. Students will complete a form requesting the switch, and the change in status will become active for the next full term in which the student is enrolled.
Students who are in programs associated with the Palmetto College maintain an online schedule by enrolling in any combination of 100% online asynchronous, 100% online synchronous, HyFlex, or blended synchronous and asynchronous online courses.
