Center for Women’s and Gender Studies

Director of the Center for Women's and Gender Studies:
Lisa Johnson, Ph.D.

Through curricular and co-curricular programming, the Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (CWGS) provides opportunities for the campus community to examine cultural assumptions about gender as it intersects with race, class, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation and disability, facilitating critical thinking about the interrelationship between gender and power. For more information about programming, please visit the center website.

The CWGS serves as the coordinating site for coursework in Women’s and Gender Studies. USC Upstate offers a minor and certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies. Specific requirements for the minor are listed below.
